We welcome finance experts to join our festive 15th breakfast event ‘Financing New Energy Technologies’, a great milestone that we want to celebrate with you..
FINANCING NEW ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES
With “new” technologies being developed and new players entering the energy transition landscape, new opportunities arise but these opportunities also bring along risks. Innovative technologies and applications like floating solar, heat recovery from surface- or wastewater, thermal batteries and biomass are becoming more mature and ask for our dedicated attention. Not all “new” energy technologies are part of an existing SDE scheme. So, how should we rate these technologies? What are the risks of “new” technologies? How mature are they, when are their tipping points? How can they be financed?
Following previously organized energy breakfast events, in this 15th edition DNV GL, with contributions from BNG, Lightsource BP and VolkerWessels will guide you through the various challenges of financing “new” energy technologies and present you some inspiring case studies. Of course, there is plenty of room for questions and interaction with experts.
Today we present you three ingredients that can inspire or help you to approach and value/estimate “new” energy technologies:
- Peter Borghstijn (Senior Account manager Utilities & Infra) from BNG Bank, explains their project finance approach. In particular Peter gives insight in financing “new” technologies.
- Lightsource BP has developed and is now operating Europe’s largest floating solar project. Mark Straver, Business Development Manager, presents the learnings and take-aways of the development of “new” technologies within the Solar (PV) industry.
- VolkerWessels, represented by Stephan van Hoof (Director Business Development and Innovations), and DNV GL, represented by Christiaan van Soest (Technical Specialist), provide insight in the opportunities of low temperature district heating with the use of geothermal wells. With the urgent need to decarbonize our heat demand, a very topical technology.
We offer you this platform where various stakeholders with interests in the energy industry will meet and share insights and best practices. We have invited a small and select group of people - for optimal interaction - coming from the finance industry, from utilities and of course project developers. There will be plenty of room for discussion and networking over coffee in a relaxed setting.
From our first breakfast session, and with many that followed, we experienced the development of a strong network of developers, financers, utilities, corporates, advisors and other stakeholders in financing the energy transition. Thank you for that.
